The main duties of the Consulate are:
- to give advice about the application of visas for visits to the Republic of Estonia: please note that Australian passport holders do not require visa to Estonia if the stay is less than 90 days
- to give Consular assistance to Estonian citizens eg loss of documents
- to develop cultural and educational contacts and cooperation between Estonia and Australia
- to develop economic cooperation between Estonia and Australia
- to give advice on the application of Estonian passports
- to promote tourism
- to encourage Australians between the ages of 18 and 30 to apply for Working Holiday Makers visas to Estonia

The functions of the Honorary Consuls are established by Vienna Convention
on Consular Relations (1963).

Consular opening hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10am – 1pm
